In a remarkably health conscious lifestyle turn, Charlie Sheen has been revealed as the face of a new anti-smoking device, aptly named NicoSheen.
The former Two and a Half Men star has partnered with a line of electronic cigarettes that claim to aid struggling smokers who want to kick the habit for good.
The device is being advertised as the ‘The Winning E-Cigarette Sheen Safe Smoke’ and it is understood Sheen has also become one of several partners in the E-Cigarette company.
E-Cigarette approached Sheen to help distribute their safe smoking product in advance of his recent Violent Torpedo of Truth Tour.
Not one to dismiss a money-making opportunity, Sheen must have snapped up their offer because a few days later he walked onto the stage, at one of his Toronto shows, puffing away on the novelty device.
However, as an avid smoker himself, it would appear the product isn’t quite as effective as the manufacturers might like.
Often seen with a cigarette hanging from his mouth, it wasn’t long before the comedy star was forced to take an impromptu break in the middle of his hour-long Toronto show to run outside for a puff on the real thing.
Though Sheen may not be the best endorsement for the product, it has not stopped the company branching out into additional E-Cigarette products, which include E-Cigarette Kits, E-Liquid and E-Cig Accessories.
Sheen is currently in the midst of his live Violent Torpedo of Truth tour.
Last night, Sheen performed his 18th show in Denver, Colorado to mixed reviews. He is set to perform again this evening at the Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco.
The star has said he plans to donate proceeds from merchandise sales to San Francisco Giants fan, Brian Stow, who was severely beaten last month outside of Los Angeles Dodger stadium.
Stow, 42, remains hospitalized and according to local media reports has suffered brain damage.
Meanwhile Chuck Lorre has implied that Sheen of being a heroin addict and has said he is ‘impossible to work with.’
The Two and a Half Men writer used his trademark Vanity Card at the end of a recent episode of The Big Bang Theory, to have another pop at Sheen's suspected drug use.
Lorre referred to the ex-star of his show as a monkey, making reference to its 'increasingly erratic' behaviour and being 'a heroin addict'.
Making the announcement via The Big Bang Theory rolling credits, Lorre wrote: ‘During the week of production his behaviour became increasingly erratic to the point of refusing to come out of his trailer to rehearse.’
He went on to say: ‘At all times every effort was made to see that the monkey felt happy and safe.’
Sheen has since retaliated to Lorre's accusations by telling TMZ: ‘I have never done or tried heroin in my life.’
